the following section will outline some of the features of serial number usage in rxdme2 and dmefree

RxDME2000 and DMEFree have simple rental tracking and can track items by serial number associated
with a specific patient.

To start Click Itemfile Icon.

Select desired Item, example Walker

Click on Serial Numbers button on right.

Now click Insert button to add a record....

Date of Entry is prefilled, you may change
Type is optional
Serial# can be any alphanumberic
Out/In allows you to identify if this specific item is out on rental or not
Out/In Date - date it went out, or date it came back in.
Due Back Date
Date Returned Date

below this is a field to lookup a patient ., so you can assign an item to a patient

Click ok when done.

Notes:
If you are going to use the Batch Rental program
You still need to setup rentals as usual , described in the
manual on Batch billing

also, the actual serial number itself is associated with the patient during claim entry in the serial# fields on the second tab of the claim entry screen

So you really have two options, you can simply
put the serial number of the item into the claim / transaction in the serial number fields,, there is one field for each line of a claim (up to 6 lines)

and /or you can add functionality , knowledge by associating the serial number for that claim with the serial number table that is on the itemfile screens.  you can store date out, date to be returns, patient who has it, etc.

one report that is available reviews the items in the itemfile ' serial number' button.

to print it you click
REPORTS
OTHER REPORTS
DME REPORT LIBRARY
and select report called
SERIAL NO REPORT FROM ITEMFILE

note, we also created a module for a client that searches for claims containing serial numbers,,,

however you can search antime withing a transaction by clicking
FILE
TRANSACTION/CLAIM SEARCH
where you can search for serial numbers many ways,
