Notice - all claims must be PECOS compliant by 07/06/10

Assuming this is the "New" effective date,, one of our consults "Jim"  enlighten us...
Quote: "Just in case you are not aware, but CMS confirmed that all claims must be PECOS compliant by 07/06/10.  If a supplier files a claim that is not compliant, it may get paid but will be recouped next year.  If a supplier files  a bunch of claims that are not compliant (basically ignoring the ruling) CMS said it will consider filing charges against the supplier under the False Claim Act.  We all thought we had until January but we don't.  And, another problem that no one has an answer for is our capped rentals.  Suppliers are now considering going through their rentals, finding the docs that are not on PECOS and picking up the equipment.  This is just incredible to me.  Jim"  End Quote

Several weeks ago we offered this to our software users,,,,,,,, only a few have mentioned that it saved them hundred's of hours of work,, and was free!
PECOs tools now available for DMEFree and RxDME2000 windows users
Option 1 - a software program you run against your doctors file and print PECOs letters if desired.
Option 2 - a Web based listing you can use to see if your docs are on the list.

The PECOs tool will search your Doctors file and find the docs that are matched on the PECOs file,, they are all set.  Then it will search and find the docs that are not on the PECOs file,, these are the ones you need to send a letter to,,  and ask them to sign up with PECOs or you wont get paid.    We have given you several reports to identify the doctors and a report to actually print a customized PECOs Letter!    So we highly recommend you use this tool!
