Announcement Draft Medical Policy Open Meeting All DME MAC Jurisdictions The Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors (DME MAC) will host a joint open meeting for the purpose of soliciting comments on three draft Local Coverage Determinations (LCD). The open meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 9:00 11:00 AM EDT at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel, 903 Dulaney Valley Road, Baltimore, MD 21204. The following revised LCDs will be discussed: Automatic External DefibrillatorsPneumatic Compression DevicesSuction Pumps Copies of each draft policy may be found on each DME MAC web site at: Jurisdiction A www.medicarenhic.comJurisdiction B www.ngsmedicare.comJurisdiction C www.cgsmedicare.com/jcJurisdiction D www.noridianmedicare.com/dme Interested parties who wish to make presentations of scientific evidence and other relevant information at the public meeting, either in-person or via teleconference, must register in advance, either in writing or via online registration. Online registration is preferred. Requests to present must include the following information:Name, address, telephone number of the presenterE-mail addressName and address of the organization represented (if applicable)Whether presenting in person or via teleconferenceLCD for which comments will be presentedElectronic registration must be completed by August 23, 2011. Speakers should be prepared to adjust the length of their presentation depending on the number of speakers. A laptop (Windows PC) will be available for presenters who wish to use PowerPoint slides. Presentations must be either on a USB flash drive or CD (both are recommended to ensure compatibility). Members of the public are invited to attend the open meeting as observers. Observers must also register, either via mail or electronic mail, at the address above. If unable to attend the meeting in-person, teleconference service will be available.
